Investing In Foreign Currencies - The FOREX

Building a diversified portfolio gives you a lot more stability with your investments and enables you to keep on the profit side of things more easily. But if you already have a rather diversified portfolio and think you are now rather knowledgeable of the stock market, then you may be ready to expand your investments into FOREX - the foreign exchange. When currencies in the United States may take a plunge, or a lack of growth, markets in other countries are doing quite well and this is something that you can draw a profit from.

The FOREX market, listed simply as "FX," is the biggest market of all. A lot of money can be gained from it - and rather quickly, too. This market deals entirely with the exchange rates between two currencies on 5 days of the week. Two currencies are always in every exchange and they are exchanged the one for the other with a buy rate and a sell rate - at the same time. For instance, if you believe that the Japanese yen is about to increase in value, then you may offer to buy it at $1.10 and sell it at $1.25 - making a possible $.15 per yen purchased. Here are a few things you need to know about how to get started in the FOREX market.

Learn The System

Trading on the FOREX is generally more difficult than the regular stock exchange. It is easier to lose money if you do not know what you are doing. In order to prepare people to learn to deal with the FOREX, though, most online brokerages have specialized software that provides training - up to about 30 days, with "free money" to use to practice until you start being able to regularly see a profit. Only then is it wise to start doing some real trading. You also need to know how to determine the state of national economies and be able to predict their fluctuations. Other online companies provide many free booklets that they will mail to you only for the asking.

Potentially Safer Investing

Since all deals with the FOREX require a broker, your money is potentially safer. Every contract made with a broker will have a clause in it that allows the broker to actually stop the transaction if they feel it is a poor investment. The primary reason for this is because you are actually using the broker's money to make the deal. When you use FOREX, you create a sort of "loan" that gives you an operating ratio of up to 100:1. This means that, for $3,000, you are actually controlling $300,000.

The FOREX is also a better investment because there cannot be any insider trading. Dealing with currencies means that the things that effect it would make national news. This kind of event would be known almost instantly around the world - and everyone has access to the same news.

Easy Liquidity

Trading in currencies occurs every single day - many trillions of dollars worth of it. Because of this feature, there is always someone who will buy or sell dollars, enabling you to have a very quick liquidity when needed.

No Fees

Brokers do not charge you a fee when you make a FOREX transaction. This enables you to be able to control even better the amount of money that you invest and it allows you to chart it a little better. Brokers make their money through the spread of what is sold, the difference between what is bid and the actual selling price.

Picking An Internet Stock Broker

Believe it or not, a very important step in increasing your financial success is by choosing an appropriate internet stock broker.

You may be asking yourself, "Well Gerbec, what makes an internet stock broker appropriate?" Three things: cost to trade, in depth analysis of your portfolio, and in depth analysis of the stock market in general. Allow me to hit on each one of these individually now.

The first, the cost to trade a stock. I'm sure most of you have been searching the web and have come across ads where the brokerage company states, "Only $4 a trade!". I'm sorry, but, unfortunately this is not as straight up as it originally appears. Sure, you can pay only $4 a trade, but, you can only trade for $4 if you commit to a trading schedule. What does that mean? For instance, allow me to use the stock brokerage company I used to trade through: Sharebuilders.

Now, don't get me wrong, Sharebuilders is not a bad internet stock brokerage company. The company is great for beginner's because it has a glossary of terms and a few e-documents that explain things like options and puts. They also appeal to beginners because of their advertisement which states you can trade for only $4. You can trade for only $4, but, you have to commit to a trading schedule. Also, you only can get that deal if you commit to buying X dollars of such and such a stock every single week of the month. Basically, you will be paying $16 a month, instead of the $15.95 that it usually cost to trade on sharebuilders.

So, my first advertise is, shop around, call the 800 number, and ask what it really cost to place a live trade. I would much rather save my money for a month, and buy all the stocks at one time with an additional fee of $15.95, then have a computer buy it for me automatically every single week for $4.

Second, in depth analysis of your portfolio. What exactly does this mean? Well, your portfolio is the name we give to every single stock, mutual fund, ETF, money market fund, bond fund, bond, etc. that you own. Depending on each investor's own goals they should invest accordingly. For instance, say I have $25,000 that I'm investing for my child for when he goes to college. I don't need to touch this money for about 18 years and I also want to increase this money greatly because the cost of attending a university for four years by then will be close to $300,000. Therefore, I would invest my money in large company's hoping for long term, aggressive growth. On the other hand, if I needed the money in a a year or two, it would be much wiser just to open a CD account and also put money in a general money market fund. Believe it or not, there are internet brokerage accounts that will analyze your portfolio according to your goals and how long until you need your money.

Third, in depth analysis of the market. Now, they may or may not give you individual analysis of stocks, but, you don't need that. That's what I'm for! But, some company's make you pay for in depth reports in sectors. these reports range from $10.00-$400.00! Make sure to look for a company that does give out these reports for FREE!

Now, if you stock around for this long, you're in for a treat. I'm going to give you my choice for, hands down, the best stock investment firm in the nation. Ask any financial adviser and they would certainly agree. Charles Schwab.

Charles Schwab allows you to trade for only $15.00. Now, this may not be the cheapest deal out there, but, believe me, its worth it! Why? Well, because they are the ONLY website I have seen that will analyze your stock portfolio, tell you how your portfolio looks against what it should look like with your goals. Make 5 star recommendations on how to fix your portfolio. They offer those reports I talked about for FREE (also the only website I've seen that offers that). And, the best part, no minimum deposit. No annual fees. And a general cash fund that receives 5.25% APY.

Charles Schwab has received A+'s all around and is my internet stock brokering site.

Feel free to comment this blog or write in with suggestions for future topics.

E-Currency Arbitrage Explained

By Jamie Marks

With all the different ways of making money online most people end up missing out on an amazing amount of opportunities, and rightfully so there are just too many to keep track of. One method that has escaped many budding internet entrepreneurs is the system of e-currency arbitrage.

So what exactly is e-currency Arbitrage? In reality the system itself is not as complicated as the name implies. Most people know about arbitrage through its applications in trading stocks or even more commonly through sports betting.

This is a very fascinating concept that occurs when any given subject is assigned a differing value in its given market place. The profit is generated through the difference in values assigned to the item, or in betting this method allows you to place bets in a manner that will never lose you money, by playing varying odds against each other you can work out the perfect bet that will result in a profit even if you lose.

The difficulty in finding arbitrage opportunities varies on the market in which you are working in. For instance simple arbitrage opportunities in the financial markets are difficult to locate as any opportunity that pops up is quickly corrected by the market and the opportunity disappears. However there are many software programs designed specifically to locate these occurrences and do help traders find what they are looking for.

Now regarding the case of e-currency Arbitrage, this opportunity combines electronic commerce with the very basic principles of arbitrage. The way this method works is by leveraging the costs of generating electronic profits against the returns.

So for instance if a company is offering 3 dollars for a qualified lead an e-currency arbitrager finds the cheapest method for electronically generating that lead for that company and this difference in value of that internet traffic becomes the arbitrage opportunity. So if you can do what that company is asking for less than it is offering the difference will be your arbitrage profit.

What this boils down to for you is learning how to generate internet traffic which can then be converted into leads or sales for the companies paying you for it. This does require an investment of both money and time but the results can be staggering. Since the cost for internet traffic is not regulated like the financial markets are you can find e-currency Arbitrage opportunities that will yield profits of near fifty percent. This may sound unreasonable but these opportunities exist on a small scale but when done hundreds of times a day they yield six figure profits.

In reality this system is much less complex than it sounds and it does not require the advanced education necessary to make money from arbitrage in the financial and foreign exchange markets. It is just a combination of basic business skill with the boom of electronic commerce. Right now this market is ripe for anyone who knows how to manipulate the search engines and generate cheap internet traffic which bigger companies are unable or slow to do themselves.

Perk Up Winter With a Trip to Paris

Of course, Paris is one of the most loved cities in the world and it's easy to understand the appeal it holds. With architecture and art of such variety and splendour, it simply must be seen to be believed; matched by culture and cuisine of impeccable standards, the French capital has everything you could wish for and more. Effortless chic is the defining feature that allows Paris to captivate and charm all year round, making it the perfect destination to visit for a winter pick me up.

Excellent public transport makes Paris easy to navigate, and as all of the major attractions are within easy walking distance of each other, the city is easy to explore.

There's plenty to see and do in Paris: pavement bistros, street markets, tree-lined boulevards and cobbled courtyards can all be found round most corners; not to mention the world famous landmarks like Sacre Coeur, Arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame and of course, the Eiffel Tower.

However, perhaps the easiest way to decide where you want to go when in Paris is by looking at how the city is divided. In fact, Paris has twenty districts sprawling from the Ile de la Cite in the River Seine - the island site of the original settlement. The river neatly divides the city into the Left Bank (Rive Gauche) and Right Bank (Rive Droite) with each side harbouring its own identity - the Left Bank is traditionally the more trendy side, whilst the Right Bank tends to be the classier.

The most famous and popular landmark is the Eiffel Tower, which looks its best when impressively floodlit at night. Originally built in 1889 to commemorate the centennial of the Revolution, the Eiffel Tower remained the world's tallest structure at 320m until the Chrysler Building in Manhattan was completed. It goes without saying that a trip to the top will afford you spectacular panoramic views across the city.

What's more, the Arc de Triomphe, the meeting point of twelve avenues, has an impressive viewing platform, as does the Sacre-Couer; therefore, you'll never be stuck for choices when looking for a bird's eye view of the world's most romantic city.

Whatever side you decide to visit you're guaranteed to get a taste of the chic and grandeur qualities that make the City of Light so special to everyone that visits. Indeed, considering the capital of France probably has more familiar landmarks than any other city in the world, you can be sure when searching for hotels in Paris that you'll always be in the midst of the action with the tip of the Eiffel Tower and spire of the Notre Dame never far from view.

So, whether mulling your way through one of the cities inspirational museums or shopping in one of the exclusive boutiques on Champs Elysees, Paris really does have something to interest everyone. And a winter trip can prove the perfect way to ensure an extra special start to the year.

Sailing Boat Charter in Palma De Mallorca-Majorca

Over 50 years of package holidays, still more than 90% of vacations are taken at resorts within a few miles of the sea. Sea-air, swimming, a new and contrasting environment to our everyday existence are all rejuvenating. A walk to the beach, followed by a gentle swim, provide more exercise in 2 weeks than many take in a year.

As idyllic as this all sounds, after a few days toasting on a sun-bed, the sad truth is it can become a bit boring and sometimes stressful.

It is well known that our bodies need physical activity; our minds too, are stimulated by change, contrast and challenge.

The daily routine of get up - eat breakfast; traipse down to beach - lie down - sunbathe; get up - eat lunch; lie down - sunbathe; get up - back to hotel; shower - eat dinner - drink- sleep over and over again, can become boring after a few days.

Tour operators are wise to this now and resorts have a multitude of activities and places of interest to divert you from the routine. Heavily marketed by the commission-motivated tour operators they are easily accessed and often with transport in an over-crowded coach included!

However with a little imagination and research - these conditions can be avoided.

The secret of a good holiday is to provide at least one good memorable experience you can 'hang your holiday hat' on and say afterwards - "that was a great holiday!"

A sailing trip is so removed from most people's everyday life, it will stay in the memory for years to come as well as sometimes providing the spark to interest a child in a new activity - specially on a classic yacht! Boat trips can be enjoyed by all the family, from infants in cots to grandparents; the sporty to the observer; disabled and incapacitated people can enjoy the unique experience of a day at sea.

Even if you have never sailed before or are worried about sea-sickness, try it! Good skippers will gain your confidence and have effective treatments on board or suggestions that may cure it. In the last resort, ask to be taken to shore!

The south-east coast of Mallorca is known as the most scenic part of the island; for millions of years the prevailing east winds and sea has eroded the soft volcanic rock forming caves and canyons, sculptured rock formations, beautiful secluded bays every few hundred meters along the coast between Pollensa and Colonia St. Jordi.

There are more marine and nature conservation areas to explore along this coast than the rest of Mallorca together - Cala Mondrago; Isla Cabrera; Ses Salines; Cala Figuera; Cuevas de Drach; Cala Santanyi; Porto Colom; Porto Cristo; Cala Ratjada; Cala Gran; Portopetro to name a few!

Nature-lovers will appreciate a guided tour of the parks when going ashore; we also have marine conservation experts that can accompany a boat charter with snorkeling or scuba-diving to explore the varied marine life. You can have the ship to yourselves or share the yacht with another family depending on the number of individuals in the group. Enjoy the freshly prepared food, open drinks bar, head for the high sea and enjoy the wind on your face. You won't have a better more healthy day!

'Vita Bel II' is the name of a 30 year old classic ship, based in Mallorca. She takes people sailing, all through the year, for a day, evening or weekend tour of the island's beautiful coast.

With more than 1,500 day-charter guests a season, it was found that 95% of guests on Vita Bel, had never sailed before! Most of those guests said in annual surveys, "it was the best day of our holiday and we will come again if we return to Majorca".

Nigel Lewis is the skipper and owner of Vita Bel. He says" We are passionate about sailing and dedicated to our guests having a wonderful day".

Tips For Renting a Limo

By Heidi Ball

There are so many occasions that might call for a limo. From weddings to prom, business to pleasure, finding a limo service might be easy. Finding one that meets your expectations may take a bit more research than flipping open the phone book.

One of the first things to note when looking for this type of service would be to shop around. While most limo companies have similar prices, the service they offer can vary greatly. Shop around and find out each companies level of professionalism. How you are treated over the phone can be a direct reflection of how you will be treated in the limo. On the issue of cost, it is worthy to note that most often the least expensive limo companies often have the oldest models of vehicles. Make sure you know what you're getting in to. Ask how old the limousine is and what luxuries can be expected.

Ask family or friends what companies they have used before. Finding a company by word of mouth can be the best way to find the right fit. If you go with a limo company that someone you know has used before, there is less of a chance of disappointment. It also never hurts to contact the Better Business Bureau to find out if there are any complaints about a certain company, and what those complaints might be.

Never wait until the last minute to reserve your limo. Planning is imperative and finding a limo well in advance is crucial to having a good experience. Once you have your reservation, it is important to call the day before your outing and confirm.

Give the limo company the correct information when it comes to time and place to pick up and drop off. Get everything back in writing so you know exactly what to expect, and double check that all information is correct.

Renting a limo can be an exciting event. If you make sure everything is set up well in advance, trust the company you are going with and get everything in writing, you'll be in for a smooth ride.

By Morgan Engle and Jes Engle

Abaco, which is located in the Bahamas, is a true world class sailing destination, and is located less than 200 miles East of Florida. The mainland of Abaco is lined with a string of outer cays that run north and south. These cays protect the miles and miles of turquoise waters off of the mainland, making them safe to explore. This particular area is known as the Sea of Abaco, and is referred to as the sailing capital of the Bahamas. Here, the trade winds are steady, and private secluded anchorages are plentiful.

Abaco boasts numerous beaches, coves, and islands to explore. The reef network, which serves as a barrier for the outer cays, is known to be the third largest in the northern hemisphere. Travelers can also take advantage of Abaco by bringing their personal sailboat to cruise the area.

Abaco offers modern conveniences, such as grocery stores, marinas, hotels, and the internet, without losing the old world charm and warmth of the islands. Each island in the chain offers something different, whether it is the landscape, beaches, restaurants, activities, or local people. A sailing vacation within the sea of Abaco gives you the opportunity to explore and experience each individual cay. Since you are not stuck in one location, you will have complete freedom to sail into a new anchorage every night. People tend to fall in love with the area, or even a particular cay, and return year after year to vacation.

For the diehard food fans, it is highly recommended that they try the local fish, plantain bananas, Papas Arrogates (Potatoes boiled in very salty water) served with Mojo Picon (spicy cold red sauce made from chilli and garlic), Gofio (Grain flour), Miel de Palma (Palm honey), Arepas (tortillas) , and gofĂo amasado (dessert made from gofio, palm honey, and plantains)

To look for cheap holiday packages, start looking a few months before your actual vacations. if you are planning to go on vacations during the Christmas and New Year holidays, then you must make sure you do the bookings as early as possible because the Christmas and New Year deals are sold out very quickly, and booking too late can result in either very expensive bookings, or no vacancy bookings at all. Another great idea is to look for cheap flights a few months before you want to fly, as it is possible to get flights with up to 80% discounts a few months in advance. If you are travelling as a group, then it is recommended that you rent out a villa instead of booking a hotel as this will help reduce your overall costs.

These islands offer extremely lavish holidays, and you will definitely find yourself going back again and again to experience this amazing archipelago, its wonderful beaches and beautiful sceneries year after year.

African Safari Kenya - Bringing Kenyan History to Life

By Maggie Nguyo

An African Safari Kenya will give you a deeper insight into Kenya's history. Modern Kenya is the evolution of many cultural influences. Long ago, native African migrations filled Kenya with Nilotic and Bantu populations whose diverse native cultures were steeped in African traditions. Nomadic peoples followed herds as the rains moved across the plains creating natural pasture and watering holes for animals and humans.

These paths are still followed by thousands of animals as they seek greener pastures. Precise timing of your African Safari Kenya still allows you today to witness thousands of wildebeest moving across the Serengeti Plains in Tanzania to the Masaai Mara in Kenya as they follow the same migration path they have taken for thousands of years.

The Kenyan coast also has a story to tell. In the 8th century, Arabs and Persians developed trading routes to the Kenyan Coast, visiting what today are the towns of Mombasa, Malindi and the islands of Lamu. A visit to Tsavo East National Park will bring you in easy traveling distance of Mombasa on your African Safari Kenya.

By the sixteenth century, the tides had turned and Arab and Persian influences gave way to Portuguese influence as Vasco De Gama brought Christianity to the coastal town of Mombasa. Fort Jesus today is a magnificent architectural reminder of the Portuguese presence. Fort Jesus became a hub for trade with Europeans who flocked to the towns of Malindi and Mombasa in search of slaves.

Standing in the ruins of Fort Jesus the distant ghosts of imprisoned slaves echo through the centuries. By contrast, on your African Safari Kenya where you will experience herds of wild antelope galloping freely across the protected lands of Kenya's National Parks.

The Portuguese were overthrown by Arabs from Oman, and Kenya, once again, was subject to Arab influence. The remains at Gedi, close to Mombasa still bear witness to the influence of a rich Omani Sultan who once ruled the Swahili people during the time of the Portuguese overthrow. The British arrived in the late 19th century and exerted their own stringent rule. The British influences live on today and permeate the Kenyan culture, language and food.

Kenya finally found independence in 1963. Today, Kenya is allowing its own diverse and unique African style to burst forth and blossom in the freedom of modern society. As you plan your African Safari in Kenya, remember that Kenya offers more than animals.

Usability of desktop applications sets it as the first choice for consumers. For consumer centric, business-centric internet applications business models are still not so flexible to provide the same degree of usability to the users as desktop application. Poor client-server interactivity has resulted in poor transaction and loss of leads and traffics in between because of poor connectivity and transaction. Grenada Yachting Act

By Candis Reade

Grenada is a spectacular beautiful island that has golden beaches; crystal water falls, flourishing green mountains and aromatic spice trees, which give this island its nickname as the Isle of Spice. From the months of January and March, you can see the hills blazing with flowering immortelle, bright-orange trees. The Grenada Yachting act is using the red light returning rule or IALA B rule. Unless you have drawn over ten feet, you no longer need to consider the 2 large ship channels floating outside the St. George or make use of the leading marks.

The Grenada Yachting act also gives emphasis on the arrival of yachts. The rule states that arriving yachts are required to display their yellow Q as well as the Grenada courtesy flag from the right-hand side spreader of the major mast. In line of Immigration and customs the captains are required to get ready of the following:

* 3 crew and passenger lists

* Immigration cards for the passengers and crew landing

* Ships, health declaration and stores

* Port clearance

* ID for passengers and crew. They can present birth certificate, valid passport, etc.

Grenada yachting act requires port clearance, and these clearances are provided by the below listed ports:

* GYS or Grenada Yacht Services at St. George

* The moorings

* Spice Island Marina in Prickly Bay

* Grenada Marine at St. Davids Bay

* Grenville

* Hillborough in Carriacou

Grenada yachting act assures that the Immigration and Customs departments provide precise schedules of their availability to all passengers. So the customs have posted the following schedules:

* They are open from Mondays through Thursdays at 8:00 up to 11:45 in the morning and 1:00 to 4:00 in the afternoon.

* Fridays at 8:00 to 11:45 in the morning and 1:00 to 5:00 in the afternoon.

* On weekends from 9:00 am up to 1:00 pm

The cruising authorize fee shall be paid by the yacht master to the office of the customs upon arriving in Grenada. These permit fee allows the ship to cruise along Grenada waters in accordance with the Grenada Yachting act. The act does not require the ship to pay for the exit, but the visitors who arrived via plane and leaving the place via boat are obliged to pay for the Embarkation Tax.

The Grenada yachting act disallows all the ships to anchor everywhere in the Carenage. The ships are not allowed to anchor within two hundred meters offshore of some Grenada beach.

Winter Vacation in the Czech Republic

By Tanja A

Someone once asked me: "Do you think it's a good idea to vacation in the Czech Republic during the winter?" Without any hesitation, I said "yes! There is so much to do all year long especially during the winter!" I talked to that person for a little while longer and then we parted ways. I never actually found out if she even went to Czech that winter or if she just got cold feet and gave up on that whole "crazy" idea. If I were to meet her again I would give her a week-long schedule of things to-do, whether she liked it or not. This is what would the "Nazi" list look like:

DAY 1:
Arrive on December 5th. Make yourself acquainted with the new environment (i.e. your hotel room, near-by restaurants, good coffee shop and bathrooms); learn Czech overnight (c'mon you have about 8 long hours! You can do it!)

DAY 2: (Dec.6)
It's Saint Nicholas Day! You are free until 5 pm - do some sightseeing, befriend some locals through your just-learned Czech language abilities. At exactly 5pm take a walk from the Wenceslas Square, through the Old Town Square, across the Charles bridge, up to the Prague Castle. Did you see the holy trinity of St. Nicholas, the devil and the angel? If not, start your walk over. Keep walking until you see one. If that means that you are going to be walking all night, too bad, your mission needs to be completed and marked off of your to-do list.

DAY 3 (Dec. 6 through Dec 23th)
It's skiing and snowboarding time! Go visit the Top 3 skiing resorts in the Czech Republic: Harachov, Pec pod Snezkou and Spindleruv Mlyn. Your main task? Find yourself a nice Czech family so that you can spend a traditional Czech Christmas Eve with them!

Christmas day and on:
Stay with your "host family" as long as they let you - and keep eating those Czech Christmas cookies! Also, don't forget to ask them to take you to the traditional Czech Christmas Mass on Christmas Eve! Once you feel like you wore out your welcome and your family is giving you the get-the-hell out look, then do not despair, pack your bags and go to.... Slovak TATRAS! Yes, more snow! One of the top skiing/snowboarding places in Slovakia is Chopok, I strongly recommend to go there from my own experience.

Main Task: find yourself a new host family, a Slovak one this time, with whom you can spend a traditional Slovak New Year's celebration!

DAY ?

Main task: Go home!!

For more information on Czech stuff and about Czechs and Slovaks living abroad go to http://czechmatediary.com/ I am looking forward to see you there!

Morocco Oukaimeden Ski Resort

By Terry Hollowell and Thomas Hollowell

Considering Morocco's established reputation as a hot, desert city on the coast and with the Sahara on an entire side of the country, one wouldn't necessarily think of Morocco as a location for a ski resort. However, the mountains that are south of Marrakech are capped with snow every winter and so the wealthier population of the southern parts of Morocco have found their own little haven to ski in. This haven is the resort known as Oukaimeden, which is distinctly Moroccan in the mountains.

Renting the ski equipment and ski pass for the lift for just under 250 dhs is quite the steal. From the actual top of Oukaimeden's ski lift, it is 3273 meters above sea level and allows you to observe the fresh and sparkling snow. These mountains then bottom out into a valley that seems to come from a fairy tale, picturesque and with a view that makes your breath disappear. Even though you are in Africa, you could swear you were in the land of the Snow Queen somewhere in northern Russia as opposed to being only a short way from the Sahara, surprisingly not Siberia.

The surrounding areas, as well as Oukaimeden itself, have an amazing view every season, all season, and the areas change beautifully with the nature. During the summer it really is not all that popular, but that only seems to make sense, considering its reputation as a winter site really has changed the local opinion of the area. Since it is known for being a site of winter sports, the best time to stay there is in the winter, especially as a two-day jaunt. With the nature that is around Oukaimeden, there is a wonderful opportunity to ski and enjoy the terrain or hike through the mountains as well.

A wonderfully thrilling experience, but at once scary for those who have never skied before, the Oukaimeden's crowning activity is the fact that it is a ski resort. In the midst of Morocco's desert and subtropical climate, there are these wonderful mountains that tower south of Marrakech. With this particular place, skiing is not a native sport, but it has certainly become one of the most popular things to do at this mountain. It is hard to think that skiing would be common or comfortable in Morocco of all places, but it is truly not considered a problem. In fact, the instructors there seem like total naturals on the snow-capped terrain, and there is no way that you would forget your lessons there. It is incredibly uplifting and unique to say that one has skied in Morocco.

What is so incredibly shocking, but at the same time very unusual and entertaining for this event is to see that the mountains are covered in snow through a large season. The season is fairly long for these particular areas in the country, but it is a truly exhilarating site even during the end of the season as it gets warmer, where the snow is now replaced by greenery amongst the mountains.

The lodges themselves are gorgeous little things, elegant but at the same time distinctly a mixture of both Moroccan and European styles. You can stay at one of these little elegant lodges by traveling up along the road to Oukaimeden that can scare you in its steep heights, but can also be fantastic to view.

Like many other cities and towns in Morocco, there is a more ancient part of Oukaimeden. While the actual resort is incredibly modern and enriching for the tourist, there is an interesting original settlement that is a simple 100 meters away from Oukaimeden's ski lift. The rich get to spend their time at the resort skiing, and in this simple little village there are only simple huts that people inhabit there, and it shows the major difference between the cultures.

While certainly not expected in the middle of Morocco, a ski resort is certainly a thrilling place to be wherever you travel. The Oukaimeden Ski resort in Morocco south of Marrakech is stunningly beautiful, unexpected, and quite elegant.
